Biography And CV
Nádia Duvall, born in 1986 in Spain, but of Portuguese nationality and Algerian descent, is a multidisciplinary artist whose work reflects multiple autobiographical, social and political issues with profound philosophical reflections. Duvall holds a PhD in Fine Arts (2024) with the final classification of Distinction and Praise from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon.
Duvall has won multiple awards such as the BANIF Painting Revelation Award in 2008; the Art, Science and Technology Award from DG Artes in partnership with Ciência Viva; the Young Creators Award/Bursary from the National Centre for Culture of Portugal in 2016, and the Young European Creation Award from the Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso Museum in partnership with the JCE Biennale France in 2019; a merit PhD scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology (2019-2023). Duvall has published several books. She is currently represented by Galeria FOCO (Franco-Portuguese). Duvall is a member of ADGAP (France), MUTIM (association of Portuguese filmmakers) and resident artist of the English feminist collective INFEMS.
Work and live ins Lisbon. Professor at Lusófona University, Department of Cinema and New Medias.
